Dermatology Associates is proud to have served the Greater Louisville community for more than 35 years. Located in the east end of Louisville, we are a full-service dermatology practice dedicated to caring for all your skin, hair, and nail needs.
Our team of board-certified dermatologists, all Fellows of the American Academy of Dermatology, provide comprehensive care for patients of all ages. We diagnose and treat both common and complex conditions and perform surgery for benign and malignant skin lesions. Dr. Andrew West specializes in Mohs micrographic surgery, a highly precise technique for removing skin cancer while preserving healthy tissue and achieving beautiful cosmetic results. As Dermatology Associates’ board-certified dermatopathologist, Dr. West also interprets all biopsy specimens in-house, ensuring seamless coordination between clinical and pathologic care.
In addition to medical dermatology, our office offers a wide range of cosmetic and aesthetic services. Our medically trained aestheticians work in close collaboration with our physicians to provide personalized care designed for each patient’s individual skin type. Whether your skin is sensitive, sun-damaged, aging or acne-prone, we offer safe and effective options, using all MD approved products.

Areas of Expertise: Dr. West does not practice general dermatology, preferring to concentrate on his dermatopathology practice and skin cancer surgery using the tissue-sparing Mohs technique. He accepts the referral of skin biopsy specimens and patients
with proven cutaneous malignancies.
Bio: Dr. West is married and has six children and three grandchildren.

Areas of Expertise: Dr. Wendelin is a general dermatologist, specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the skin, hair and nails. He sees patients of all ages, including children. He performs cutaneous surgery on both benign and malignant lesions. He has a special interest in acne, malignant melanoma, venous stasis ulcers and hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating).
Bio: Dr. Wendelin was born in San Francisco and has lived in several areas of the country, including Los Angeles, Pittsburgh, and Lexington, Kentucky.
When not practicing medicine, Dr. Wendelin enjoys cooking, gardening, board games and reading science fiction. He also hosts the podcast Stories for Wonderful Children. He is married and has three children.

Areas of Expertise: Dr. Loveless is a general dermatologist who sees patients of all ages, including children. While he enjoys all aspects of general dermatology, he has special interests in skin cancer diagnosis and treatment, acne, and cosmetic dermatology.
Bio: Dr. Loveless was born and raised in Tallahassee, Florida. He conducted dermatology and clinical immunology research at Johns Hopkins University and practiced general dermatology in Baltimore, Maryland, prior to joining Dermatology Associates in 2009. Dr. Loveless is married and has three children.

Dr. Vence acts as an Attending Staff Physician for the dermatology resident clinic at the Veterans Affairs Hospital.

Bio: Dr. Meagan Huelsman is a native of Louisville, Kentucky. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Louisville with both her undergraduate and medical degrees. She was elected as a junior member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society in medical school. Dr. Huelsman volunteers as a Clinical Associate Professor in the Division of Dermatology at the University of Louisville and serves as an Attending Staff Physician for the dermatology resident clinic at the Veterans Affairs Hospital.

Bio: Dr. Veasey is a native of Louisville, KY. Prior to joining Dermatology Associates, she worked as an Attending Staff Physician at the Veterans Affairs Hospital. When not practicing medicine, she enjoys running 5Ks and half-marathons, and spending time with
her family.
SARA SCHWARTZ, PA-C
PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT
Dermatology Associates, PSC is delighted to welcome Sara Schwartz, PA-C, back to the practice in her new role as a Physician Assistant. Sara was born in Texas and raised in Georgia, she moved to Louisville in 2016. She earned her Master of Science in Physician Assistant degree from Sullivan University, graduating summa cum laude.
Sara’s return is especially meaningful because she previously worked as a medical assistant with Dermatology Associates from October 2021 through July 2024. Her familiarity with the practice and commitment to patient care make her a wonderful addition to the provider team.
Outside of work, Sara enjoys spending time with her husband and their two dogs, practicing piano, playing video games, and completing jigsaw puzzles.
