Job Skills/Requirements
Examples of Duties:

1. Performs general nursing care to patients and assist physician during Mohs surgery. Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards and physician orders.
2. Prepares equipment and aids physician during treatment, examination, and surgical procedures.
3. Greets patients and prepares them for physician examination by having them in proper undress.
4. Obtains detailed and pertinent medical history from patient prior to examination. Uses nursing expertise and excellent interviewing skills to assure necessary information is obtained.
5. Responsible for preparation of exam rooms. Restocks lab and exam rooms and obtains liquid nitrogen daily.
6. Clean and autoclave instruments, prepare surgery trays, and mix medications.
7. Follows OSHA guidelines and sees that OSHA Maintenance/Cleaning is completed. Follows CLIA regulations.
8. Responsible for notifying and explaining lab/biopsy results to patients. Assists with patient scheduling.
9. Performs patient phone triage and handles pharmacy requests. Communicates physicians instructions to patients via phone.
10. Screen phone requests for work-in appointments.
11. Reviews patient insurance requirements prior to completing lab requisitions.
12. Assist with medical emergencies as needed.
13. Attends required meetings, participates in committees and assists with community education as requested.
14. Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations, license and CPR certification.

15. Maintains patient confidentiality.
16. Suggests solutions to patient care problems and complaints.
17. Set-up and administer Patch Testing.
18. Monitor patient vital signs per treatment or condition requirements.
19. Provides patient and family education as needed.
20. Perform suture removals and wound dressings.
21. Performs related work/various duties as assigned.
22. Professional conduct and team player a must.

Performance Requirements: Knowledge of professional nursing theory and practice to give and evaluate patient care. Knowledge of organizational policies, regulations and procedures to administer patient care. Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care. Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment. Skill in applying and modifying the principles, methods and techniques of professional nursing to provide on-going patient care. Skill in identifying problems and recommending solutions. Skill in preparing and maintaining records, writing reports, and responding to correspondence. Skill in developing and maintaining department quality assurance. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public. Ability to maintain quality control standards. Ability to react calmly an effectively in emergency situations. Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures. Ability to communicate clearly.

Education Requirements: Graduate from an accredited school of practical nursing.



FULL TIME WITH BENEFITS

Pay Type: Hourly.




Educational Allowance: $100.00 per year (pro-rated to hire date).
